Cybersecurity: A Global Perspective

In today’s digital society, we are witnessing the rise of a global digital economy. Consequently, cybersecurity has emerged as a critical sector for both economic stability and national security. The United Kingdom currently ranks as the third-largest exporter of cybersecurity services worldwide.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses transitioned their operations online. However, some failed to implement adequate security measures, making them vulnerable to cyber-attacks.

The impact of cyberattacks on  women’s personal data has been profound, significantly affecting their sense of security. Tragically, some women have even lost their lives due to cyber violence. These attacks often exploit personal information, causing severe psychological distress and, in some extreme cases, fatal consequences. The lack of digital literacy and cybersecurity awareness among many  women further complicates their ability to protect themselves from these threats. This underscores the urgent need for public awareness campaigns, cybersecurity education, and government-supported initiatives to equip women with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate the digital landscape safely.
