Empowering Women in Cybersecurity – Second Outreach Event

The second Empowering Women in Cybersecurity outreach event was successfully held at Glasgow Caledonian University, bringing together S3 pupils from secondary schools across the city.
Organised as part of the British Council-funded Empowering Women in Cyber Security project, the three-day programme introduced young women to cybersecurity through practical, hands-on workshops.

Workshops & Learning Activities

Participants explored key topics including:

  • Securing emails using artificial intelligence
  • Cyber-physical systems
  • Smart grids and autonomous technologies
  • Digital forensics workshops

The programme concluded with a final-day cybersecurity challenge designed to assess

About the Empowering Women in Cyber Security Initiative

This event forms part of a broader initiative delivered in collaboration with Aswan University, Egypt.

The project aims to:

  • Educate and inspire women and girls

  • Strengthen digital skills

  • Promote diversity within cybersecurity

Outreach Activities in Egypt and the UK

 the project has included:

  • Training programmes for women over 30

  • Collaboration with the Egyptian Centre for Women’s Rights

  • University-focused training initiatives

  • School-based workshops across the UK
